Kashio fights Minamisawa with Hound and Kogetsu.

As a member of a squad with a stable standing in the upper tier of B-rank, Kashio is a capable Attacker. He was able to hold his own against Kai Minamisawa,[1] whose solo points exceeded 8,000 for a period[2], and to defeat him with Kurauchi's assistance.[3] Despite narrowly managing to block his sneak attack[4], he was no match for Yūma Kuga, who easily cut off his arm right afterwards.[5] Kashio further proved to possess decent reactions when he dodged a frontal Egret shot from a nearby Sniper whom he had already spotted,[6] and when he repeatedly avoided Ikoma's signature Senkū when aimed at multiple opponents.[7][8] He is also moderately perceptive, realizing that Ikoma would target Karauchi in time to support him[9] and detecting Chika's hop while chasing her, although he failed to consider the possibility of a trick.[10]

Like his teammates, Kashio is known to be a top-level runner,[11] which allows him to pick off the most vulnerable targets before other opponents.[12] As an Attacker who also uses Hound, he can instantly switch between close and mid-quarters combat[13] and fight effectively even after the loss of his sword arm.[14] He is proficient enough with Gunner Triggers to divide his cube as well as scatter[15][13][16] and delay the bullets to an extent.[15][14]

    Type Normal Kogetsu

    Classification Attacker

Kashio appears to be a moderately proficient swordsman, being capable of holding his own against an Attacker[1] who at one point reached Master Class.[2] Since he gave the opponent ground on multiple occasions[1], it is possible that he is less skilled than Minamisawa, although he might have intentionally withdrawn to continue looking for Osamu Mikumo while fighting.[15] He was able to block an attack from Yūma which had been accelerated with Grasshopper, although he was thrown out of balance[4] and lost his arm to the superior Attacker right afterwards.[5] Kashio keeps Kogetsu conjured at all times.[17][18][19], and prefers to brandish the sword with both hands in close quarters combat,[20][1] although he can compensate for its weight well enough to avoid attacks,[7][8] run,[21] and cut wires[22] even after the loss of his sword arm.[5] Kashio is first seen using Kogetsu in Chapter 150 (Episode 83 in the anime).
    Type Normal Hound

    Classification Gunner

Hound gives Kashio a mid-ranged option[13] and makes him especially dangerous when he fights alongside his teammates in an open area.[23] He is capable of using it to attack an opponent from two different angles at the same time, making guarding against it with only one Shield very difficult at close range.[13][24] Kashio is first seen using Hound in Chapter 153 (Episode 83 in the Anime).
    Type Normal Grasshopper

    Classification Optional

Kashio uses Grasshopper to jump out of the way of attacks which he would not be able to avoid otherwise[25] as well as to change his position in mid-air. He can cast it with enough precision to allow others to step on it.[9] He has been seen casting only undivided pads.[9][25] Kashio is first seen using Grasshopper in Chapter 154 (Episode 84 in the Anime).
    Type Normal Bagworm

    Classification Optional

Kashio uses Bagworm to approach weak targets undetected[26], and then turning it off before engaging in a fight.[27] He is first seen using it in Chapter 152 (Episode 83 in the Anime).
    Type Normal Shield

    Classification Defense

When guarding against Mizukami's Hound, he made it large enough to fully protect his head and torso in it's default hexagonal shape, leaving only his legs exposed as he jumped away.[28] He is first seen using it in Chapter 154, However in the Anime he seemingly used it off screen.
