–Yūgo Kuga [1] , |
Yūgo Kuga (空閑 有吾, Kuga Yūgo ?) is Yūma Kuga's father and Border's former Commander-in-Chief.[3]
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Yūgo had short black hair that is slicked black, and his eyes have never been seen. He was a fairly tall and muscular man.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Yūgo was a dedicated and caring father. He taught Yūma valuable lessons about life and combat. He warned Yūma not to go into battle, knowing that he could get himself killed, and when Yūma was on the brink of death, he sacrificed himself to save his son.[4]
Background[edit | edit source]
Yūgo is a founder and was one of the earliest members to join Border before it went public. He was a senior to Takumi Rindō and Masafumi Shinoda, and a colleague of Masamune Kido.
He and Yūma fought in a war between Calvaria and Spinthir, helping Calvaria on behalf of his friend Raymond.
He sacrificed himself to save his son, Yūma when he was about to die after being attacked and defeated by an unknown enemy. This was done by converting his life energy into a Black Trigger which sealed Yūma's dying body and replaced it.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Yūgo was a fighter of the highest caliber and was the person who taught Yūma how to fight. His presence during the war against Spinthir was said to be extremely important for Calvaria. Before his death, he was about as strong as Shinoda during the Large-Scale Invasion Arc[5] and was Mogami's rival.[3] He also had enough trion to be able to create a Black Trigger and possess a Side Effect. The latter allowed him to see through lies and was passed down to his son through his Black Trigger.
