Egret you're all using now is an all-purpose type with optimal firing range. It's adequate for most jobs.

    Ken Satori about Egret.[1] ,

Egret (イーグレット, Īguretto ?) is a Sniper Trigger.

    Appearance[edit source]

Egret is a rifle with a black stock and forestock, and a stop front sight on top of the muzzle. The scope has a target dot reticle.[2]

    Overview[edit source]

Since Haruaki Azuma was Border's first Sniper[3], this Trigger could not have existed until four years prior to Yūma's enlistment.[4]

    Abilities[edit source]

Egret has the best range of all Sniper Triggers.[5] In extraordinarily capable hands, it could hit a target from 1 kilometer away.[5] Furthermore, the higher the Trion levels of the user, the more its range can be increased.[6] Egret also boasts optimal bullet speed, power and accuracy. Reacting to an Egret shot after it has been fired is regarded as a commendable feat.[7] Since very few individuals are capable of it, predicting the exact target, timing and direction of an Egret shot is considered the only way to reliably protect oneself.[8] In fact, Egret can easily break a Shield with a single bullet, unless there's a significant discrepancy in trion capacity,[8] and although a focused Shield can stop it,[8] it needs to be sufficiently concentrated, or it will be ineffective.[9] Full Guard is also capable of withstanding an Egret shot.[10]

According to Reiji Kizaki, Border Sniper Triggers are very well made, so if the wielder has good aim, they will not miss.[11] This was proven true when Isami Tōma and Tōru Narasaka managed to hit the small, shifting interstices in Hyrein's defense.[12]

Overall, Egret has excellent stats and no real flaws. Consequently, it serves the purpose of a balanced, all-around Sniper Trigger, and it is the most popular rifle in Rank Wars.[13]

    Techniques[edit source]

    Image Name
    Description
    Twin Snipe
    (ツイン 狙撃(スナイプ), Tsuin Sunaipu?)[14]
The user activates two Egrets, one through the main and one through the sub, and, after taking aim with one eye per scope, fires them simultaneously.[15] This technique can be used against two different targets,[15] or against only one for increased firepower.[16] Its only user is Ken Satori.[17]
    Acrobatic Twin Snipe
    (アクロバティックツイン 狙撃(スナイプ), Akurobatikku Tsuin Sunaipu?)[18]
An alternative version of Twin Snipe performed while the user is in motion and out of balance.[19] Ken Satori, its sole user,[17] was capable of killing a Trion Soldier with it while falling head-first, without using the scopes.[19]

    Users[edit source]

    See also: Egret Users

Egret has 17 current users,[20] one of which is the Gunner Takaaki Katagiri.[21] In fact, all users of sniper triggers from B-rank and above have had Egret in their trigger set at some point.[20] The only sniper who currently lacks one in her trigger set is Chika Amatori, who replaced[22] it with Hound.[23] This list excludes those members of branches who do not participate in Rank Wars[24] as well as the All-Rounder Reiji Kizaki who only used it temperaily.[25] However, at least 135 Snipers[26] in Border are given an Egret to practice during joint training, including C-rank trainees.[27]

The Egret user with the most solo usage points is Isami Tōma, the no. 1 Sniper and no. 4 solo combatant.[28] Another notable user is Tōru Narasaka, the no. 2 Sniper.[29] However, despite the gap in points, both were allegedly outmatched by former Sniper Mirai Hatohara with this trigger.[30] Akane Hiura also used Egret while she was a Border agent.[31]

    Trivia[edit source]

    • An Eaglet is a young Eagle. This was the former name used on the wiki.
    • Its design seems to be based on Remington Model 700.
    • Ken Satori is the only agent with two Egrets in his Trigger set.[17]

A: If it’s an unmoving target, someone who is good at premise sniping like Narasaka or Hanzaki can hit the mark from 1km away with an Egret. An Ibis or Lightning’s range will be shorter.

    24. Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Are there any branches besides Tamakoma and Suzunari?
A: Border has 6 branches: Tamakoma, Suzunari, Wataayu (綿(わた)(あゆ) ?), Yumite District ((ゆみ)()(まち) ?), Hayanuma ((はや)(ぬま) ?), and Kuma (()() ?). Its personnel are mostly those who prioritise work or school and don’t aim for A-Rank (they do not participate in the twice a week Rank Wars). The branches are placed on the outer edge of the Forbidden Zone. Other than Tamakoma, the branches function as a point of contact for local residents.
