Hokari is a proficient Sniper as shown during the Stealth and Target Acquisition Drill, where he ranked 5th, above some A-rank Snipers.[1] His role in the squad is primarily to support his allies, whether it be by restraining the enemy with his cover fire or to assist them in combat with precise marksmanship.[2] He gave proof of his skill when his captain fought Yūma Kuga, limiting the latter's movements with his sniping without hitting Arafune, who was between them.[3]
Hokari can also hold his own in an offensive role. During the match against Tamakoma Second and Suwa Squad, Hokari would have scored a headshot against Sasamori as soon as the latter came into view without Suwa's interference,[4] proving himself adept at aiming with just the information from Radar. He can take aim extremely quickly, opening fire a moment after stopping in position.[5] His reactions were however not fast enough to allow him to dodge Ranbanein's attack.[6]
Furthermore, Hokari is competent at situation assessment, a skill he showed when he deduced that Sasamori would come after him due to Suwa's injury[7] and later when he estimated that he would be unable to shake off the Attacker, which caused him to prioritize assisting Arafune.[5] Before then, he attempted to rattle his opponent by exploiting his psychological weaknesses,[8] which speaks for a certain degree of insight and resolve.
