–Fumika Teruya to Kuniharu Kakizaki, in Tamakoma Second 14.[1] |
Fumika Teruya (照屋 文香, Teruya Fumika ?) is a B-rank All-Rounder and a member of Kakizaki Squad.
Appearance
Teruya is a light-skinned teenage of average build. She has long, ash blond[3] hair (purple in the anime)[4] braided into a ponytail, with bangs covering her forehead. During the away mission tests, her unbraided hair is shown to consist of wavy, free-flowing clumps. Her uniform is composed of a high-collared, zipped jacket in a bright persimmon color with matching headphones, a black undershirt, boots, and dark brown pants[5] (gray in the anime).[4]
Personality
Teruya is very disciplined in combat and while preparing for matches. She is most commonly seen with a serene expression and a light smile, rarely emoting in Rank Wars, appearing only mildly disquieted by the reports of Lamvanein's power[6] and surprised by Chika Amatori's combination of Hound and Lead Bullet.[7] In general, she has shown to be very proactive.[8][9][10] [11] Her observant nature has led her to question Mizukami's authority, but also realize her own hypocrisy.[12] It was implied that there is a hint of sadism in her kindness.[3] [13]
Quotes
- (To Kuniharu Kakizaki) "Of course you're not going to throw the match for him, right?"[14]
- (To Kuniharu Kakizaki) "You were on TV about two years ago, weren't you? At that moment I thought, 'This guy is worth supporting'."[15]
- (To Kuniharu Kakizaki) "This stable formation you created is our strength. Please don't say you'd abandon it so readily."[1]
- (Defending proverbs to Satoshi Mizukami) "Proverbs represent the accumulation of history and knowledge across millenia. And we can find relevance in them, even in modern times."[16]
Trivia
- She likes pudding, chilled sōmen (a type of fine white noodles), piano, and dogs,[17] and is terrified of ghosts.[3]
- Teruya's school uniform[1] is identical to Kirie Konami's.[18] The two in fact go to the same school, which is also attended by Ai Kitora, Rei Nasu and Ren Tsukimi.[19]
- The author described her as an oshikake nyōbō[3] (押しかけ女房), a Japanese expression indicating a woman who forced her husband into marriage.
- A second idiomatic expression referred to her is takane no hana[3] (高嶺の花), signifiying a woman out of one's league.
