“ | While Yuba ran around taking people one-on-one, Kanda would take command and destroy the others! That made Yuba Squad the coolest! | ” |
–Kazuma Satomi reminiscing about past Yuba Squad, in Chapter 180[1] |
Yuba Squad (弓場 隊, Yuba-tai ?) is the B-rank #8 Squad led by Takuma Yuba. At the start of the current season, they were ranked 4th.

Plot[edit | edit source]
Introduction Arc[edit | edit source]
Yuba Squad presumably takes part in the extermination of all Rads in Mikado City.
Large-Scale Invasion Arc[edit | edit source]
Due to Masafumi Shinoda preventing B-rank squads with missing members from fighting against Aftokrator's forces out of fear of capture, Yuba Squad is presumably one of the Squads missing a member.[5]
B-Rank Wars Arc[edit | edit source]
Yuba Squad is first mentioned during Galopoula's Invasion as one of the squads taking part in Rank Wars during the conflict.[6]
Before Round 8, Yūma and Midorikawa go visit Yuba and Obishima.[7] Yuba Squad is pit against Tamakoma Second, Ikoma Squad, and Ninomiya Squad in the last match of the season. Tonooka spends the entire match tracking Chika and throwing wrenches in Tamakoma Second's plan only to be shot down by Oki.[8] Obishima scores off of Minamisawa before getting taken out by Yūma, and Yuba takes a point off of Mizukami before his duel with Ninomiya ends with a loss. At the conclusion of the match they ranked 7th, however Nasu Squad manages to get enough points to surpass them, ultimately bumping Yuba Squad down to 8th.[2]
All current and former members of Yuba Squad go out for dinner to celebrate Kanda's entrance into college.[9]
Away Mission Test Arc[edit | edit source]
All members of Yuba Squad participate in the test. Yuba is chosen by Kuruma to help lead his Squad 5,[10] Obishima is taken by Ōji for his Squad 2,[11] and Tonooka ends up on Kitazoe's Squad 4.[12] Fujimaru is assigned to Kakizaki's Squad 3 as its operator.[13]

Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Why couldn't upper B-ranks like Ninomiya Squad or Kageura Squad participate in the Second Large-Scale Invasion? Did they travel far away on their time off?
A: It seems I lost the chance to draw it in the story itself so I'll write it here: "HQ Chief Shinoda gave the order that B-rank and lower agents are not allowed to participate in the fight until all members of the team are present". It seems he was worried about agents acting on their own and getting captured by Rabbits. Of course, there are also teams like Kako Squad who was late to the fight because their captain went out on a drive on her time off.
