Kazama Squad (風間隊, Kazama-tai ?) is the A-Rank #3 squad in Border. It is led by Sōya Kazama.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Kazama Squad is a team that is mostly focused in stealth action, and renowned for it.[1] Their primary triggers are Scorpion and Chameleon.
History[edit | edit source]
Prior to the start of the series, Kazama had offered Kikuchihara, who had been unequivocally told that his Side Effect was useless, to join his team.[3] Using the Side Effect to their advantage, they quickly rose in rankings, especially with the Chameleon.[2] Sometime later, Border had sent Kazama Squad to pursue Mirai Hatohara and "the collaborators" who had stolen Border Triggers, but they were too late as they already disappeared.[4]
Uniform[edit | edit source]
The round parts of Kazama Squad's uniform react when they activate Chameleon. Their uniform is embedded with a mechanism that reduces the Chameleon's Trion consumption, but increases the cost of the combat body.[5]

Black Trigger Capture Arc[edit | edit source]
After returning from a mission in the other world, Kazama's squad was one of the four A-rank squads, along with Tachikawa Squad, Fuyushima Squad, and Miwa Squad, sent to take Yūma's Black Trigger by force.
Large-Scale Invasion Arc[edit | edit source]
Kazama Squad was the first A-rank squad to engage a Rabbit, coming to the rescue of Suwa Squad. They defeated it. Later, they face Enedora, and, with Kikuchihara's hearing, initially succeed in evading his attacks and even manage to behead him. However, due to lack of information on his Trigger, Enedora recovers and quickly defeats Kazama. Kikuchihara and Utagawa retreat. Kazama gives intel support, and Kikuchihara and Utagawa use Chameleon in the training room where Enedora is lured. After locating his Trion vitals, they attack them, defeating Enedora and avenging Kazama's defeat.
B-Rank Wars Arc[edit | edit source]
During Galapoula's Invasion, Utagawa and Kikuchihara were sent to guard the halls while Kazama joined the other top attackers in stopping Gatlin and Rata from destroying the away ship.
Away Mission Test Arc[edit | edit source]
Kikuchihara and Utagawa take part in the test, with the former joining Kitazoe's Squad 4 and the latter leading his own Squad 1. Mikami and Kazama work behind the scenes as part of the A-Rank evaluation team.
