Yukimaru Ichijō (一条 雪丸, Ichijō Yukimaru ?) is an A-rank Attacker and a member of Katagiri Squad as well as one of the twelve candidates for the Black Trigger Fūjin.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Ichijō has messy black hair spiked at the sides, in addition to the two ahoge on top. Twice he is seen with his tongue protruding.[3][4] He wears a light, side-buttoned coat with a high collar, over a black mock-turtleneck. The Katagiri Squad emblem is on the left breast; replica enamel pins are also on both sides of of the collar. This uniform is worn by all Katagiri Squad Combatants.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Ichijō enjoys the thrill of competition, as he seemed exhilarated when Karin Yuitsuka mused that Yūma Kuga and Hyuse were likely stronger than their squad.[5] His casual depiction[6] allows him to talk while still eating, give way to a hearty laugh at his colleague's straight-laced attitude, and believe that discourse is inevitable regardless of performance.[4] He is also said to be remarkably free-spirited.[7] Even so, he prioritizes results over discontent.
Plot[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
Ichijō was a member of 2nd generation Azuma Squad along with his current teammates, Takaaki Katagiri and Karin Yuitsuka.
Border Enlistment Arc[edit | edit source]
He is mentioned by Jin as one of the candidates for Fūjin.
B-Rank Wars Arc[edit | edit source]
Karasuma mentions that either Ichijō or Ikoma is the No. 6 Attacker.[8]
Sometime during B-Rank Wars, Katagiri Squad, along with Kusakabe Squad, were out of town for recruiting new members in other prefectures.[9]
Away Mission Test Arc[edit | edit source]
Ichigō oversees Phase 1 as an A-rank evaluator, save for Day 2, during which his squad is on defense duty.[6]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Jin refers to him by his first name with no honorific,[10] which could mean they are close, as referring to a stranger or someone you're not close to by their first name is considered rude in Japan.
- His character design is based off of the protagonist from Ashihara's one-shot Room 303.
- According to volume extras he likes:[1]
