    Trion[edit source]

    Osamu's Trion.

Low Trion Level: Osamu has been shown to have a low amount of trion[1], it was stated by Yūma that Osamu would need three times his amount of trion to attract neighbors[2], additionally he can only equip up to 6 triggers at once due to how low his reserves are.[3]

    Intelligence[edit source]

Osamu's defining trait is his high strategic and tactical intelligence, being praised by top-tier personnel such as Kazama.[4] He was able to outwit experienced opponents like Hyrein and prevent the latter from achieving his ultimate goal, capturing Chika.[5]

Furthermore Osamu can use advanced negotiation tactics such as implanting "agents" to control the flow of conversation[6] a tactic he picked up from Netsuki[7] when he used it against Osamu in the press conference.[8]

    Triggers Used[edit source]

    Osamu Mikumo's Triggers
    Current
    Type Normal Raygust

    Classification Attacker

Raygust is Osamu's Attacker Trigger[9], and he is a developing user. When Osamu was C-rank, he would use Raygust in Blade Mode[10][11] due to not knowing about Shield Mode[12], during this time he was unable to pierce a Bamster's armor[13], but was able to cut off a Marmod's limb[14], however he was defeated not long after by a different Marmod.[15] After becoming B-rank he switched to a more defensive role[16] by primarily using Shield Mode along with other triggers, but has been shown to still use Blade Mode when need be. The first time he used Raygust in Blade Mode as a B-rank agent, he was able to take down a Bander using Thruster[17] after stunning it.[18] not long after, he would become Karasuma's student[19] which let improve enough to take down a Marmod[20] by himself[21] by switching between using Asteroid defensively[22], and Thruster offensively.[20] Not long after, he would kill a Rabbit that was thought to have already been destroyed.[23] However he would not use Raygust in Blade mode until Round 5 where Osamu will start almost exclusively use Blade Mode in conjugation with Thruster for various reasons. In Round 5, Osamu uses the combo to hold down Wakamura[24], and then defeat him using a delayed Asteroid.[24] In Round 6, Osamu uses the combo to get close to Kashio and then slash him in half.[25] in Round 7, Osamu is able to defend himself from Okudera[26], and later Koarai[27] primarily using Blade Mode by itself[26][27], and only used Thruster to forcibly move Koarai[28][29] he would later use it near the end of the round to block Murakami's Blade Mode Thruster that was launched at Osamu.[30] In Round 8, Osamu used Blade Mode Thruster in conjugation with Yūma's Grasshopper to try and hit Ninomiya[31], however it gets blocked.[31]

When Osamu uses Shield Mode, he primarily uses Asteroid offensively with Shield Mode as a shield[18][22][32][33][34][35][36], however he has been shown using other triggers in his other hand: Osamu has used Shield and Shield Mode to maximize his defensive output against Rei Nasu[37], Bagworm to stay hidden from the Radar[38][39], and Spider to either add more wires in the middle of battle[40][41], or to deceive other combatants.[42][43] He was first seen using Raygust in Blade Mode in Chapter 1 (Episode 1 in the anime), while shield mode was first seen in Chapter 12 (6 in the anime).

    Type Normal Thruster

    Classification Optional

Osamu utilizes Thruster chiefly to increase the speed of his slashes with Raygust[25], as well as to rapidly close in on the opponent.[44][45] He is also capable of using it to dodge,[46] or move to a better position[47], throw Raygust in Blade Mode at the enemy[48] and to push an opponent in a favorable position with his Attacker Trigger in Shield[49][24] or Blade Mode.[29] Osamu was first seen using Thruster in Chapter 12 (Episode 6 in the anime).

Shield Charge[50] (シールド 突撃(チャージ), Shīrudo Chāji ?): Osamu activates Thruster while Raygust is in Shield Mode in order to ram into the target at high speed, pushing them back.[49] It should also be noted he has done the same feat while raygust was in blade mode.[29] By prolonging its duration, this technique can be used to forcibly relocate an opponent.[51][28] Osamu first uses this technique in Chapter 36 (Episode 18 in the anime).

    Type Normal Asteroid

    Classification Shooter

Asteroid is Osamu's ranged Trigger[9], and his main offensive trigger. He generally divides the trion cube in 27 pieces[52][22][53][54][35], but he has also fired it in 9 pieces[55], 8 pieces[33][56][57] when prioritizing bullet speed[33], and whole to maximize his output.[58][59] His bullets are not very powerful due to his low amount of trion[1][60], although they can still effortlessly damage a Trion Body[61][24] as well as make a giant hole in the eye of a Bander when he first used Asteroid as a B-Rank Agent.[18] His skill was originally very poor with only having one bullet hit a Bander[18], but after training under Karasuma[62], most if not all of his bullets hit a Marmod while Osamu was on the move[22] with the Marmod attacking him at the same time[63], as well as having most of his bullets hit a stationary Suwa.[64] However he wasn't able to hit more mobile[65] Nasu[33], unless Suzunari was also firing at her.[66][67] After Round 3, he trained under Arashiyama, and Tachikawa Squads[68], his accuracy improved[54][69][70][71], and learned to delay his shots in order to catch the target unawares after luring them in position.[72][73] Osamu was first seen using Asteroid in Chapter 12 (Episode 6 in the anime).

Slow Buckshot[74] ((てい)(そく) (さん)(だん), Teisoku Sandan ?): Osamu scatters numerous, small rounds of Asteroid bullets around himself, making it difficult for the enemy to maneuver or attack without coming in contact with these bullets.[50] The power/range/speed ratio is 70/29.9/01.[50] Osamu first uses this technique in Chapter 36 (Episode 18 in the anime).

    Type Normal Spider

    Classification Optional

Due to the low trion consumption of this Trigger[75], its versatility in the hands of a good strategist[75], and the low amount of skill, practice and accuracy necessary to use it[75], Osamu regards Spider as a near perfect weapon for him.[76] His primary tactic consists in setting countless wires between buildings (or other structures) in wide areas of the map.[77][78][79][80] Since the wires' color can be adjusted to make it very hard for enemies to spot,[75] those areas become as disadvantageous to the enemy as they are advantageous to his squad.[77] In fact, this application of the Trigger makes full use of his teammates' abilities,[81] boosting Yūma's agility[81] while relying on Chika's Lead Bullet sniping to prevent the wires from being cut down.[82] They can also force enemies into the wire zones by having her shoot down other buildings with Ibis.[83] The wire zones are beneficial to Osamu himself as well, enabling him to slow down whole squads with minimal assistance from Chika.[84] Since the opponent is hindered by the wires and must constantly watch out for them, whereas he can devote his undivided attention to combat alone, Osamu can score points on his own, and since the wires will keep supporting his allies even if he should Bail Out, he can fight without hesitation.[85] As a matter of fact, Spider allows him to be useful to his team without fighting at all. An application of Spider that was not suggested to him by Ai Kitora is the creation of highly visible wires, which are generally red in color, and the gradation of the others: by summoning red wires when the enemies come too close, they will inevitably be less alert to the ones around them.[42] This technique is more complex than it seems at first glance, because some of the normal wires are set to be more visible than others,[86] which further disorients the enemy and prevents them from understanding why they tripped despite being careful.[87] However, it will fail if there aren't enough wires in Osamu's vicinity.[70] He can also anchor an enemy to an object by shooting the hooks directly at them, restraining them briefly.[88] It should be noted that Osamu can't use Meteor in combination with Spider.[75] Osamu starts training with Spider in Chapter 122 (Episode 73 in the anime), and uses it first in Chapter 138 (Episode 78 in the anime).
    Type Normal Shield

    Classification Defense

Since Raygust already has a shield mode[12], Osamu doesn't usually use it. Osamu used this Trigger to block a Hyuse-type Rabbit's magnet attack[89] as well as Nasu's Viper Attack.[37] He was first seen using it in Chapter 69 (Episode 31 in the anime).
    Type Normal Bagworm

    Classification Optional

Osamus uses Bagworm to stay hidden while either setting up wires[90][91], attempt a sneak attack[92][93], or command.[94][95] Osamu was first seen using it in Chapter 140 (Episode 79 in the anime).
    Temporary
    Type Normal Hound

    Classification Shooter

Osamu equipped Hound ahead of round eight of the latest season of rank wars specifically to take Ninomiya by surprise.[96] For the deception to be effective, he disabled the homing function for all the shots he fired before that decisive moment.[97][98] Since his low trion reserves prevented him from adding an extra Trigger[3], this gimmick lured his targets into believing that he had never removed Asteroid.[97] Osamu was first seen using Hound in Chapter 192 (Episode 98 in the anime).

However it should be noted that Osamu might of kept Hound as we haven't seen him in another fight since Round 8.

    Replica[edit source]

    Osamu With Replica.

Yūma's guardian Replica sometimes helps Osamu with his duties as a Border agent, via a miniature version that has branched of the main body.[99]

    • Communication: Replica can separate parts his body to create miniature clones which allows Osamu to communicate long range with Yūma.[99]
    • Boost Double: Activated by Yūma using replica's main body[100], then a seal with the kanji For strength appears on Osamu's back.[100] this technique reinforces Osamu's trion body and gives him a significant strength boost.[100] Osamu was able to lift a pillar easily he previously wasn't able to budge.[100]
    • Shield: Replica can create a shield around Osamu to block attacks.[101]
