    World Trigger Wiki

    The Amatori Cannon.

Chika is a veritable trion prodigy, boasting such high levels that she can output as much power as a Black Trigger while using a training Trigger.[1] While her unwillingness to injure human and Neighbor opponents prevents her from making full use of this astounding gift, it still allows her to be a significant asset to her Squad by letting her utilize standard Border Triggers in unprecedented and inimitable ways. One of her main functions in Rank Wars was originally to intimidate opponents with her firepower, severely limiting their options.[2] Although her mental block becoming common knowledge removed the threat of her sheer offensive power,[3] she retains her unique ability to alter the topography of the battlefield to favor her allies[4] and impede her enemies, destroying key structures[5] and hiding spots.[6] The addition of Lead Bullet to her Trigger Set enables her to fire at the enemy directly and hinder them so her teammates can finish them off.[7] The combination of these two abilities makes her instrumental to her unit’s strategy based on wire zones,[8] and in turn require, in addition to her tremendous amount of trion, a modicum of skill as a Sniper.

Chika was noted to be suited for that position by multiple agents of Tamakoma Branch. Although she is not a fast runner, she has high stamina[9] and her body is quite flexible.[10] Furthermore, she is disciplined, focused,[11] and said to never tire at painstaking work,[10] all of which she demonstrated to her mentor by training her sniping skills relentlessly for a whole day.[12] This display changed his mind about her potential,[13] causing him to estimate that with practice she could become the ace of a unit.[11] Indeed, her perseverance allowed her to rank 41st out of 128 in joint training on the day of her enlistment,[14] and she continues to improve.[15] Her earnestness carries over to combat, where she changes position after every shot[16] unless the wire formation makes it unnecessary. She is known to be adept at figuring out where other Snipers might be hiding, which she attributes to Kizaki’s teachings in stealth, and she gradually became less reliant on Usami’s support to find good hiding spots. Contrary to what her demeanor might suggest, Chika performs better in combat simulations than in target practice.[17] She eventually learned to aim fast enough to trade bullets with B-rank Sniper Kōji Oki[18] and to time her shots so they will hit her target while they are at their most vulnerable, such as mid-leap.[19] Against Ōji Squad she also gave proof of quick thinking by coming up with tactics to lose or at least get a head start on her pursuers.[20][21]

    Trion[edit source]

    Chika's immense Trion supply.

Chika was born with an extraordinarily developed trion gland, the likes of which Replica recalls to have rarely seen.[22] A glimpse of her power convinced Hyrein to change his priorities for the ongoing large-scale invasion and make her the primary target,[23] as he believed her to be suited to become Aftokrator’s next God.[24] Border and Aftokrator concur in estimating her trion levels to put her on par with a Black Trigger.[25][1] Border’s management requested Chika’s participation in the next away mission on the grounds that by using her trion as a power source not only the number of stops to refuel will be reduced, but it will also be possible to enlarge the ship.[26]

Chika's first time using a training Ibis.

While lending her trion to Osamu, the duo obliterated a Rabbit with a single Asteroid round[27] and maxed out the invaders’ gauge[28] which had previously measured the output of her training Ibis to rival a Black Trigger’s.[25] With that same rifle she blasted a hole in Border’s walls, which are several meters thick[29] and made out of trion.[30] Her reserves were not depleted even after a whole day of relentlessly firing Egret while wearing a Bagworm.[12] It is thanks to them that she can level multiple buildings with the pull of a trigger[31] and make a combination of Lead Bullet and Lightning combat-effective.[32]

Aside from causing her to be targeted by Trion Soldiers since a very young age,[33] one of the downsides of Chika’s immense trion capacity is that her Trion Body takes a very long time to regenerate.[34]

    Mental Block[edit source]

As a result of her persecution by Neighbors and the connected disappearance of people who got close to her, Chika developed a trauma which used to lead her to not ask anyone else for help out of fear for their well-being.[35] The profound sense of guilt and fear also caused her to freeze on the spot when a Rabbit defeated Ai Kitora in front of her and then targeted her,[36] but the sight of Natsume in danger coupled with Yūma’s words gave her the strength to overcome them and fight back.[37] Nonetheless, it was only after Reiji told her about his father[38] that she started to value her own life and safety in battle.[39]

A mental block that endures to this day prevents Chika from shooting at human targets. More precisely, she cannot bring herself to use bullets that will injure their trion body, but she has no qualms about firing shots rigged with Lead Bullet or any way which do not harm the target,[40] nor does she hesitate to assist her teammates in attacking others.[41] For these reasons Isami Tōma is convinced that she is suited for combat and that she will overcome this mental block once she is pressured enough.[42] After being confronted by Hyuse, Chika explained that what prevents her from pulling the trigger is the fear that other agents will fear or resent her due to her massive trion amount,[43] but that if her teammates' lives were at stake, she would not hesitate to open fire to save them.[44]

On one occasion Chika tried to bypass her block by aiming at multiple enemies with Radar instead of sight, although the attempt put a visible strain on her despite her missing.[45] She also reacted in shock after accidentally taking out an opponent while demolishing a building,[46] but she was able to continue the match normally.

    Side Effects[edit source]

Chika is the only known individual to possess two Side Effects, despite manifesting one being already an extremely rare occurrence. Their combination has allowed her to escape capture for years.[47]

    Chika conceals her presence.

Sensing enemies ((てき) (かん)(), Teki Kanchi ?)[48] Chika can detect the presence of hostile Trion Soldiers[49] and humanoid Neighbors.[50] She might be able to differentiate between the two, and she can determine their location[49] as well as their speed and number.[51] The exact scope of her power is, however, unclear, and it does not seem to apply to humans, or at least Border agents during rank wars. It manifests as a shiver.[52]

Erasing Presence (()(はい)(), Kehai wo Kesu ?)[48] By calming down and emptying her mind, Chika can conceal her presence, avoiding detection by Trion Soldiers.[53] If her concentration is broken, the effects dispelled.[54] It does not appear to be possible to use in combat, since Chika keeps a Bagworm at all times. Chika often uses it after reaching the Emergence Area so the Trion Soldiers will not attack the city.[55]

    Triggers[edit source]

    Chika Amatori's Triggers
    Current
    Type Normal Ibis

    Classification Sniper

Thanks to Chika's immense amount of trion,[56] Ibis's already high firepower is magnified to Black Trigger levels,[57] causing it to be compared to a cannon.[58] With this Trigger, Chika was able to shoot through HQ's trion wall[59] and obliterate a Rabbit.[60] Her beams are so devastating that a single one could destroy multiple trion bodies just by passing next to them.[3] Because of her psychological block, however, she only acts as support.[61] A single pull of the trigger can effortlessly erase whole areas of the map,[62] giving her squad the advantage of modifying the very topography of the battlefield.[4] This can be utilized to destroy strategically relevant structures,[63] environmental hazards,[64] and hiding spots for the enemy,[65] as well as to create chaos to assist her teammates.[66] Recently, Chika has started using Ibis to force opponents into Osamu's wire zones, as remaining out in the open will leave them vulnerable to her unstoppable Lead Bullet sniping.[67] Precisely due to her massive output, however, Chika's use of Ibis makes her position obvious.[68] Before her fear of harming others became common knowledge, the threat of her cannon fire was so great it considerably limited the options available to enemy teams.[69] Chika first uses Ibis in Chapter 34 (Episode 17 in the anime).
    Type Normal Lightning

    Classification Sniper

Chika added Lightning to her Trigger Set when she began to use it in conjuction with Lead Bullet, a strategy devised by Mirai Hatohara[32] and suggested to Chika by Yuzuru Ema as a way to get her used to shooting directly at the opponent, as well as to assist her team during combat.[70] This combination would not be practical if not for Chika's massive trion capacity, which increases Lightning's muzzle velocity, as the amount of trion needed for Lead Bullet decreases bullet speed.[56] She is quite proficient with it, and thanks to its relatively high rate of fire she can use it at mid-to-long range to deter her opponents from closing the distance when she must defend her position.[71] Chika is first seen using Lightning in Chapter 119 (Episode 72 in the anime).
    Type Normal Lead Bullet

    Classification Optional

Following Ema's advice, Chika added Lead Bullet to her Trigger set, becoming more of active piece in combat. By combining it with Lightning, which she uses to snipe at opponents from afar and hinder their movements to support her teammates. Despite the muzzle velocity reduction caused by Lead Bullet, the bullet speed is combat standard thanks to her trion capacity and Lightning's properties.[72] On top of allowing her to overcome her fear of harming others, Lead Bullet prevents Shields from stopping her bullets[73], which is particularly useful with Lightning, as it can be blocked with a normal Shield.[74] The primary downside is that she cannot keep Bagworm active while firing, but her Ibis shots are still more noticeable, and it is better than shooting bullets that will miss.[73] Should an opponent get close to her, however, she can use Lead Bullet in yet another way that is unique to her, in conjunction with Hound. It has low speed and range[75], but since it pursues the target[76], it remains an exceptional defensive measure. Furthermore, due to the number of bullets, it cannot be easily avoided or blocked with a physical barrier.[77] The only way to counter it is to force her to activate her own Shield, since the combo requires her to utilize both the main and the sub.[78] Chika, along with Ema, and Izuho test out Lead Bullet in conjugation with Asteroid, and Ibis.[79] With the former she managed to maintain decent range and speed for up to 30 meters[75], the latter of which creates massive weights upon contact.[80] However, the two combinations were rejected due to being impractical, the first because it left her too exposed[75], the latter because the bullets were extremely slow.[81] Chika is first seen using Lead Bullet in Chapter 119 (Episode 72 in the anime).
    Type Normal Hound

    Classification Shooter

Chika added Hound to her Trigger set in order to dissuade her enemies from engaging in close or mid-ranged combat with her. Due to her fear of hurting others, she combines it with Lead Bullet, which nonetheless is an effective tactic to neutralize the opponents who engage her at short or close range. She can angle the bullets so they will not hit a teammate standing between her and the enemy.[76] Should she be unable to activate both Triggers, she can strike the ground between herself and the foe to raise a smokescreen and retreat.[82] She has been seen dividing her giant trion cube in 27,[83] 64,[84] or 125[85] parts. Chika was first seen using Hound in Chapter 145 (Episode 80 in the anime).
    Type Normal Asteroid

    Classification Shooter

Chika supplies Mikumo with her trion[86] to shoot at an attacking Ranbanein-Type Rabbit[87], the asteroid was so powerful it ripped through it's dense armour and destroyed it - eliminating the rabbit. After Amatori is cubed by hyrein, Mikumo's asteroid trigger malfunctions, making it almost unusable[88].
    Type Normal Bagworm

    Classification Optional

As a Sniper, it is essential for Chika to use Bagworm in order to prevent her trion signature, and therefore her position, from being picked up by Radar or similar Triggers. She dispels it only to activate Lead Bullet[89] or Full Guard.[90] Chika first uses Bagworm in Chapter 23 (Episode 12 in the anime).
    Type Normal Shield

    Classification Defense

Thanks to her immense trion capacity, Chika's Shield is extremely durable and capable of withstanding not only sustained Asteroid fire[91] and Egret shots despite not being focused,[92] but even Ibis.[93] Chika is also capable of casting Full Guard in front of her teammates to protect them,[90] rescinding it at the moment of their counter[94] and using it in Fixed Mode.[95] Chika is first seen using Shield in Chapter 113 (Episode 69 in the anime).
    Former/Temporary
    Type Normal Egret

    Classification Sniper

Chika consistently uses Egret during sniping practice, although she has never utilized it in Rank Wars. Her skill however is quite high; in at least one session, she managed to place within the top 20.[96] With her immense amount of trion, she can keep shooting it for more than 8 hours[97] while wearing Bagworm, and still have energy to spare.[98] It also increases her range.[56] She replaced Egret with Hound after starting to use Lead Bullet. Chika first used Egret in Chapter 23 (Episode 12 in the anime).
    Type Normal Meteor

    Classification Shooter

Under Usami's recommendation, Chika temporarily added Meteor to her Trigger Set while fighting in Cityscape D to flush out opponents in hiding[99] or create an escape route if her teammates find themselves in a pinch.[100] Due to her immense trion level, her Meteor is capable of dealing enormous large-scale damage,[101] obliterating half of a six-story mall with a single attack.[102] The devastation of an undivided chunk of Meteor resulted in her wiping out half of Haruaki Azuma's Dummy Beacons[46] and accidentally taking out Tsuneyuki Okudera,[103] and was noted to guarantee her team the win if she could fire more.[46] The inadvertent hit also had the effect of intimidating Azuma Squad to change their strategy.[104] Chika first uses Meteor in Chapter 173 (Episode 90 in the anime).
    Anime Only
    Type Normal Chameleon

    Classification Optional

After Giev captures Osamu, Chika and Yūma use Chameleon to infiltrate his hideout unnoticed. It is only used in Episode 58.
