Inspection of the simulated battle mechanics resumes across all teams. As Squad 7 gears up for their first match, Mizukami prepares to play it solo.
Long Summary[edit source]
Squad 7 takes a break to focus on universal assignments before returning to the Battle Simulation. Back in Headquarters, Kittaka explains how judges can score or review any given participant based on their video logs.
Yūma expresses confidence in his ability for the upcoming battles. Ninomiya advises Ema and Chika to determine their own courses of action in this next examination, assigning Azuma to man their back-up unit. Inspired by Hyuse's discovery of text-to-speech, Wakamura asks his squad to investigate if its counterpart could be achieved.
Katori grows increasingly frustrated by the simulation's inherent slow nature, to which the others expand on: if instantaneous actions require cooldowns, a team can exploit the lag for an opening. As such, action token usage should acknowledge impromptu battles and follow-up preparations — something other teams will also be aware of.
When prompted, Osamu reckons their adaptability will be tested during the battle phase through the excess of information needed to be memorized, likening it to that of an Away Mission. As Squad 7 receives their team schedule, Squad 9 prepares for the delegated assignments — with no knowledge of their captain's impending match-up.
