Trion (トリオン, Torion ?) is a biological power source, or energy[1], that resides within every living human, and possibly in other life forms as well.[2] This energy provides power for a Trigger's various abilities and functions.[3]
Description[edit source]
Trion is produced by an invisible organ, better known as the Trion Gland (トリオン 器官, Torion Kikan Lit. Trion Organ ?).[1] It is not known in the human world, but every human possesses this organ, located next to their heart.[4] Every human's trion gland has different trion values.[3] The trion gland can increase trion production if exerted regularly, much like a muscle[4][5], and it will likewise benefit from a good diet and rest.[5][4] After the age of 20, however, it stops developing[6] and starts to decay if not exerted.[7] this leads to countries recruiting children due to how their gland can still grow[6], However places like Border allow for older applicants if they have the Trion[8], while in the neighborhood, it is common for people in their 30s and 40s to still be on the frontlines[9], with combatants at Viza's age are rarer.[9] Additionally, How much trion a person isn't related to genetics[10][11], meaning someone with low amounts of trion can give birth to a person with decent[10] to Black Trigger[12] levels of trion. this leads to countries to look even among unremarkable families for recruitment[10], however criminal history can still play a factor.[13] A high trion value can allow an individual to develop one[14] or, in exceptionally rare cases, multiple Side Effects[15], and plays a crucial part in the creation of a Black Trigger.[16]
The functions of the trion gland are directly connected to a Trigger's power.[3] If the same Trigger is used by a different person, differences will appear concerning their trion values.[3] While using a Trigger, the user will go into a Trion Body, which is their body made fully of trion.[17] Their normal body goes into the Trigger holder.[17][18] They squirt out gas instead of blood (green and later dark grey gas in the anime).[19] If the trion body is destroyed, the body will revert to their normal body[20], Trion bodies amongst A-Rank, and B-Rank will initiate bail out[20], upon completion will result in transformation to their real body.[21] C-Ranks[22], Black Trigger users[23] and Neighbors[24] (with the exception of Galopoula[25]) lack the Bail Out process and as such are immediately transformed on the spot.[19][26][27][28] Yuma is a rare case of already being in a trion body before transformation[29] so he transforms back into his original Trion Body.[30] The regeneration time is proportional to the person's trion value; the greater the trion value, the longer the regeneration time.[31]
Aftokrator's Trion Receptors increase both the amount of trion an individual has and its quality as they grow.[32]
Trion Values[edit source]
Border quantifies the trion of its personnel and neighbors using a value of 1[33][34] or higher, but it is unknown how other countries do it, however Replica has shown the ability to show visualizations of a person's Trion levels.[35][36] Aspiring combatants with low trion tend to be rejected from Border[13], though they are still able to work for Border in other roles, such as Operator or Engineer.[37] Border combatants' trion typically ranges from 4[38][39][40] to 9[41][42][43][44] when using normal triggers, though there are exceptions. For example, Chika Amatori has a trion value of 38[15], which is the highest known one in Border. On the other hand, Osamu Mikumo only has a trion value of 2[45], which is the lowest known one among Border's combatants. However, there are operators with a trion value of only 1.[33][34] Black Triggers provide a significant boost in trion to their users, as shown with Yūichi Jin, who has a trion value of 7[46] when using normal triggers and a trion value of 37 when using Fujin;[47] This is due to how the trion used to make the black trigger is condensed.[48] Additionally, Aftokrator's Trion Receptors increases the amount of trion an individual has as they grow.[32] going by border's numeral system, Hyuse (who has the lowest trion among Hyrein's Expedition Force[49]) has a value of 16[50], whereas Masataka Ninomiya who had the highest value in Border before Chika's enlistment[51] has a 14.[52] If Chika is factored in, All 4 of the expedition force's black trigger users all have higher trion values[53] than chika's 38[15], however she has higher trion than the horn trigger users.[54]

Bullet Forms[edit source]
When Shooters use their gunner trigger, with the exception of Kako[61], always appears in the shape of a cube which can be split.[62][63][64][65] Most Agents choose to split the cube into either 8[66][67][68], 9[69], 27[70][71][72][73][74], or 64[75][76] parts or choose to not split the cube at all[77][78], however it has been shown that pyramids[62][63] and Tetrahedra[64][65] are also possible, however it is an advanced technique for people who want to control the number and power of the bullets in detail.[79]
It should also be noted that Nozomi Kako has a custom Hound[43] which appears as a Sphere which from which smaller sphere are emitted.[61]
Trion Quality[edit source]
Trion differs among individuals also due to its quality.[32] How exactly this property affects it is unclear, but it has been suggested that higher-quality trion makes trion manipulation easier[80], which in turn improves the accuracy of one's control over their Triggers.[80]

A: The more Trion a person has (= the more Trion that gets used in battle) the bigger the cost of constructing a Trion Body, so recreating it will take more time. Chika takes a lot of time but Osamu can return to battle fairly quickly (in about 1~2 hours time).

A: The current theory is that the Black Trigger's creator's own stats override the current user's stats. Sometimes output is even higher than the creator's typical levels, perpahs becuase creating a Black Trigger involves pouring in and condensing every last drop of one's own Trion.
