Skill level and triggers used by Shūji Miwa.
As the captain of an A-rank squad, Miwa is a capable agent and endowed with good leadership skills. Miwa is the No. 3 All-Rounder[1], and as such possesses a flexible fighting style.[2] His favored distance is often troublesome to the opponent, because it is neither close nor mid-range.[3] The fact that he can efficiently use the Lead Bullet is proof of his skills[4], as it requires the agility of an Attacker as well as the ability to shoot while on the move[5] with his close combat movement being counted as first rate.[4] Additionally, Miwa originally only used Kogetsu, but then picked up handguns as a countermeasure against Tachikawa.[6]
He seems to be a valued strategist, as both Izumi and Tōma, despite their higher rank, relied on him during their fight against Arashiyama Squad[7], and Arashiyama stated that his opponents' next action would be decided by Miwa.[8] At some point, Miwa, along with Kei Tachikawa went through a spartan training regimen made by Tsukimi which increased their performance by 20%.[9]

Miwa's swordsmanship is stated to be first class[10], additionally being the No. 3 All-Rounder[1] he must be at least 6,000 points with this trigger, showing proficiency. He swiftly draws it and approaches the enemy to get past their defenses when Asteroid is not sufficient.[11] He has shown to be able to attack continuously while moving and dodging, even from very difficult positions.[12] His style consists in slashing at the opponent as soon as he gets into range, using a fast paced barrage of attacks that leaves the enemy no room to retreat or counter at their preferred pace.[10] He can also wield Kogetsu together with his handgun to expand his options.[13] Hyrein commented that even though Miwa knew about Alektor, it was still impressive that he managed to cut him.[14] Miwa is first seen using Kogetsu in Chapter 15 (Episode 8 in the anime). |

However being an All-Rounder[1][18], it is possible for him to have at least 6,000 points with this trigger. Miwa is first seen using Viper in Chapter 79 (Episode 34 in the anime). |

Lead Bullet | |
---|---|---|
Classification |
Each shot of Miwa's Lead Bullet assigns a burden of 100 kilograms (220 Pounds).[10][21] He uses it in conjunction with Asteroid to slow down or restrain an opponent, thanks to its ability to bypass constructs made of pure trion, including most Triggers, such as Shields and Alektor's bullets.[16] Due to the Trigger's very low range and bullet speed, it requires the user to be close to the target and possess the agility of an Attacker and the ability to shoot while moving, further highlighting Miwa's skills.[5] Thanks to the customization, Lead Bullet can be used as the handgun's "Exclusive Optional Trigger" (making so it Triggers on the other hand can be used), but he has to manually load it through a separate magazine; additionally it has a high cost, and has a limited number of bullets.[22] Miwa is first seen using Lead Bullet in Chapter 15 (Episode 8 in the anime). |

A: He started using handguns as a countermeasure to getting beat up by Tachikawa, so in a way you can’t not say Tachikawa is his mentor.

Daisuke Ashihara: Q: How heavy is one of Miwa's Lead Bullets?
A: About 100kg (220lb). Yūma's Anchor is about twice that.

Daisuke Ashihara: Q: In Volume 2, before he used Lead Bullet, Miwa loaded a Trigger into the handgun, do Triggers in the shape of other guns have that kind of feature too?
A: Miwa’s Lead Bullet is customized. By loading an external magazine that was created beforehand, Lead Bullet can be used as the "handgun’s exclusive optional trigger" (so you can use a Lead Bullet handgun in the left hand and another Trigger in the right hand). The demerit is that the cost of a magazine is high, and the number of bullets are limited. Other gun Triggers can also use it if they are customized.
