A Neighbor (近界民, Neibā Lit. Near-world People ?) is an inter-dimensional and extraterrestrial race of humans that live within the Neighborhood.[1] While the inhabitants appear like regular humans[1], being from separate worlds makes them a completely unique species altogether. They were accused of attacking Mikado City four years prior to the start of the series[2], thus causing stigma towards them.[3]

Background[edit source]
Calvaria vs. Spinthir[edit source]
At least 4 years before Chapter 20[4], Spinthir had invaded another nation, Calvaria.[4] Yūgo Kuga and his son Yūma fought on the side of Calvaria[4], on behalf of Yūgo's friend Raymond.[5] Yūgo ended up sacrificing himself to make a Black Trigger to save his son.[6] Three years after Yūgo's death[7] (1 year before the story), the war ended with Calvaria's victory.[7]
First Large-Scale Invasion[edit source]
An unknown nation sent Trion Soldiers to Mikado City[8], resulting in the city's near-annihilation[8][9] if it weren't for Border[10], a mysterious organization that used Triggers, Neighbor technology, to defeat them.[10][11] Many people were killed or went missing.[9] Border was set up as a protection agency.[10]
Plot[edit source]
Second Large-Scale Invasion[edit source]
The most recent god of Aftokrator, who powered the country's Mother Trigger, is dying[12], and Aftokrator was in a crisis of looking for one.[13] It was decided that the four major families would lead expeditions to find a new god[14], but in case one could not be found[15], Hyrein planned to use his vassal with the highest level of trion[15] which is the lord of House Ellin[16], and Hyuse's Master.[16]
Galopoula's Invasion[edit source]
Aftokrator gave orders to Galopoula to stall Border by any means necessary.[17], so the captain, Gatlin decided to have his team raid their base[17], to destroy their Away Ship.[18] In the end, they were not able to destroy the ship resulting in Border's victory.[19]
A few weeks later, the Galopoula Expedition Force, and Tamakoma Branch form an alliance.[20]
