As befits a member of a former A-rank Squad[1] and current B-rank #1 Squad[2] who was cleared for an away mission,[3] Tsuji is a very capable fighter. Though not as proficient a swordsman as Hyuse,[4] Masato Kageura or Yūma Kuga[5] his skill with Kogetsu has allowed him to reach Master Class[6][7] and to briefly clash with the latter two Attackers without incurring damage.[8][9] He was also able to cross swords with Noboru Koarai and Tsuneyuki Okudera while suffering only superficial wounds[10] despite their teamwork being noted to be refined enough for them to defeat most higher-ranked opponents.[11] Together with Hisato Sasamori, Tsuji succeeded at holding back one of the Idras manually controlled by Yomi unscathed.[12]
Additionally, he, along with Kōhei Izumi, and Mitsuru Tokieda, is counted as one of Border's best support fighters.[13][14] His calm assessment of his surroundings and the state of battle, peripheral vision and reflexes have allowed him, time and time again, to intercept attacks aimed at his teammates, whether with a well-positioned Shield[15][16] or a timely swipe of his Kogetsu.[8][17] His reactions are quick enough for him to read the trajectory of Takuma Yuba's bullets and interpose a Shield,[15][18][19] as well as to survive a sneak attack by Yūma, though at the cost of one hand.[20] On the latter occasion, his ability to maintain his composure in spite of the havoc wreaked by Hiro Kitazoe's Meteor barrage granted him the drop on Koarai.[21] Tsuji is, in fact, capable of calmly assessing an unfavorable situation even in the heat of battle, displaying moderate levels of perceptiveness.[22] In round four, he engineered a clash between Kageura and Yūma[23] which kept both aces occupied while allowing him to assist his ally.[24] He gave further proof of ingenuity, quick-thinking and fast reactions when he guarded against Chika Amatori's sniping with both a focused Shield and a roof shingle[25] grabbed moments earlier,[26] a combination which would have protected him from regular fire from Lightning, Lead Bullet combo.[27]

Tsuji is a proficient enough Kogetsu user to have reached Master Class with it. In a first to five match, he managed to score two wins against Hyuse,[4] whose swordsmanship at the time put him on roughly equal footing with no. 6 Attacker Tatsuhito Ikoma,[28] and to maim him in at least one other round,[4] with both Hyuse and Ikoma praising Tsuji's skill.[29][30] Although he is not considered their match, he was able to emerge from brief skirmishes against Yūma[8] and Kageura[9] unscathed, and to suffer only light wounds for the duration of his fight against Koarai and Okudera,[10] whose coordination enables them to defeat most higher-ranked opponents.[11] His predilection for wielding Kogetsu with only one hand[24][8][9][17] presumably suggests that his proficiency offset the sword's non-negligible weight,[31] although he has also been seen switching to a two-handed grip on a few occasions,[11][29] such as a sneak attack.[32] Even with a one-handed grip, however, he can cut his way through a wall while in motion[24] and swing with enough force to rattle Koarai's arms despite his two-handed block.[20] Tsuji is first seen using Kogetsu in Chapter 112 (Episode 68 in the anime). |

Senkū | |

Classification |
Tsuji frequently uses this Trigger to strike at an unsuspecting opponent from a distance. He can combine it with Bagworm for a sneak attack,[33] hack at multiple opponents at the same time,[34] or even exploit the elongated slash as a diversion.[6] A well-timed Senkū enabled him to cut off Yūma's hand.[34] He has not displayed the ability to execute more than one slash per regular activation.[6][34][33] Tsuji is first seen using Senkū in Chapter 112 (Episode 68 in the anime). |

Shield | |

Classification |
Though he generally casts Shield in its default hexagonal shape,[15][18][35][19][16][36] Tsuji will resort to a hemispherical[37] or spherical[19] barrier to guard against explosives. He is quick and precise enough with his summoning of Shield to intercept Yuba's fire with focused Shields,[15][18][35][19] as well as an Ibis shot originating from behind him,[25] although on the latter occasion the barrier was easily pierced.[36] His accuracy extends to remote Shields cast to protect his allies.[15][16] Tsuji is first seen using Shield in Chapter 113 (Episode 68 in the anime). |

Bagworm | |

Classification |
A cloak that prevents the user's Trion signature from being detected by Radar, therefore concealing their position. In the latest season of Rank Wars, Tsuji has activated Bagworm to prevent himself from being targeted by powerful opponents while crossing the map[38] and to launch a sneak attack with Senkū.[33] He is first seen using Bagworm in Chapter 189 (Episode 97 in the anime). |
