Background[edit | edit source]
During the First Large-Scale Invasion, his house was destroyed by a Trion Soldier.[1]
Introduction Arc[edit | edit source]
Kodera hides in buildings alongside Narasaka near Yumite District Station in order to provide support for his squad by sniping Yūma, should he jump into the air.[2] Narasaka is eventually talked out of this by Jin. After the event, Jin and Replica is seen leading Kodera and Narasaka out to confront the others.[3]
Black Trigger Capture Arc[edit | edit source]
He and Yōsuke have been observing Yūma's habits (though Kodera does all the work).[4] During the battle, he provides support by sniping Jin, though all of his attacks fail because of the latter's foresight.[5]
Large-Scale Invasion Arc[edit | edit source]
During Midorikawa's 1.v.1. with Ranbanein, he remembers Yōsuke quoting Kodera following his loss against Yūma. He repeats the line to his opponent.[6] Later Kodera makes an actual appearance (along with Narasaka and Tōma) supporting Izumi from long-range against Hyrein and successfully hitting him through the spaces between Alektor's conjured birds.[7] Mira later interrupts them by summoning Rabbits to attack them.[8]
After the battle, Usami tells Osamu that the three aforementioned snipers received an Excellent Distinguished Services award from Border for their contributions.[9]
B-Rank Wars Arc[edit | edit source]
During Round 2's Middle Group Nigh Division battle, he offers impromptu commentary as an audience member.[10]
He is among the group of Snipers sent to deal with the wave of Idras during the Galopoula Invasion.[11] Along with his Squad, he watches the live commentary for the night session of B-rank Wars' Round 8.[12]
Away Mission Test Arc[edit | edit source]
Kodera is chosen as one of eleven temporary captains for the test,[13] leading four others in his care; Rokuta, Okudera, Miura, and Kitora.[14][15] When explaining his picks, he admits to prioritizing mobility and trion efficiency for this line-up.[15] Shortly after, his team begins investigating available data aboard the capsule environment.[16] Partly due to Kodera placing a time limit on his team for the completion of the first special assignment,[17][18] his team (Squad 5) is the quickest to complete the most assignments — at the end of Phase 1's first day, they are graded as 2nd place.[19]
