    History of Replica.

    Background[edit | edit source]

Replica was created by Yūgo Kuga[1] for the purpose of being Yūma's chaperone and friend.[2] When Yūgo told Yūma to stay behind[3], Yūma decided to go anyway[4], but Replica said he shouldn't[4], to Yūma replies by saying he'll sneak behind the enemy and break their formation.[4] Replica is the one who told Yūma to come to Border to see his father's friend.[5] His real motive was to do something about Yūma's dying body.[6]

    Introduction Arc[edit | edit source]

Replica is first seen after Yūma is hit by a car.[7] When Yūma was asked where he lived, Replica gave him the address.[7] He then says that if he keeps getting hurt like that, his body will be severely damaged[8], and Yūma tells him it was because he was rushing him[8]. Replica then tells Yūma he's 25 minutes late for school, to which Yūma replies in disbelief, saying it's impossible.[8] Yūma then asks Replica if he can use his trigger, which Replica tells Yūma is the only one who can make decision when Yūma can use his Trigger.[8] Yūma then chooses to not use his trigger, and Replica thinks it is a wise choice.[8] After Yūma gets to the school, he is confused why they are all wearing the same clothes[9], and Replica explains the administrators decide the clothing, with Yūma comparing it to military uniforms.[9] Later, when the Bamster attacks the bullies that were bullying Yūma and Osamu[10], Replica comments on how Osamu is too weak to pierce through the bamster's armor[11], so Yūma asks again if he can use his Trigger. Replica once again tells Yūma, he is the one who decides when he can use his trigger.[12]

On the next day, while Osamu explains Yūma on how not to gain attention, Replica tells Yūma that Osamu is right and getting attention from Border would not be good for him.[13] Before Yūma challenges the Bullies in the school's roof[14], he says Japan is very nice to mean people, and Replica says it's because there aren't many people doing bad things.[15]

Later that day, A marmod appears out of a gate at the school[16] So Osamu activates his Trigger, and goes to fight the marmods.[17] Yūma and Replica comment on how Osamu is losing very badly[18], so they should go help him[18], however the trigger signals are too different, so border will find out Yūma is a neighbor and they will go after him.[18] Yūma doesn't mind this, but Replica mentions how Osamu will likely get into trouble for hiding a neighbor[19], so Yūma thinks up a way to help Osamu without getting detected.[19] This ends up being Yūma using Osamu's trigger.[20]

During Yūma's fight against the marmod, Replica explains how a marmod's blades are the hardest type used by Trion Soldiers.[21] After the fight, Replica explains the concept of trion and trion glands to Osamu.[22]

Kitora mentions how there has been abnormal gates recently[23], and Replica mentions how Kitora is right, right before another abnormal gate opens behind them.[24] Not long after, Osamu transforms into his trion body, but isn't able to summon his weapon[25], and Replica clarifies that Osamu doesn't have enough trion to summon the weapon due to using too much beforehand.[25]

Osamu decided to help the people in town[26] so Replica gave Osamu a mini-replica as a way to communicate with Yūma.[27] Later on Replica used Yūma's Black Trigger to reinforce Osamu's trion body to help move a pillar.[28] On Yūma's side, he is hoping Kitora wouldn't go ontop of the Ilgar, Replica claims it is a natural assumption.[29] Kitora, however was able to shoot down the Ilgar, which Replica commented on how she is better than he thought[30], however it causes another problem[30] as once an ilgar takes enough damage, it self destructs in the area with the highest human concentration count.[31] So Yūma and replica help kitora out, by connecting two chains, and throwing the ilgar into the river.[32]

Replica comments on how the abnormal gates have to be dealt with or else this will keep happening[33], so at night on the same day, Yūma, and Replica explains side effects to Osamu[34] whilst investigating for clues at the school.[35]

the next day, Replica explains to Jin, that the cause of the abnormal gates are due to Rads, modified with a gate generator[36], and after explaining the situation with them[37] Jin gave commands to the top brass which led to an all day extermination[38], but all the rads were gone, and no more abnormal gates will appear.[39]

After Chika runs to the forbidden zone, Replica comments on how she seemed to notice the attack before the siren went off.[40] After Chika is getting attacked, Yūma rescues her, and Yūma asks if he can use his trigger[41], Replica tells him to wait as other border agents are nearby[41], but Osamu is heading their way.[41]

Replica pulls out a gauge to measure a person's trion[42], and he measures Osamu[42], and later Chika's Trion[43], he mentions Chika's Trion Gland is so big he can't recall seeing many that size.[44] Afterwards he mentions the best thing for her to do, is go under border's protection, however Chika doesn't want to do that.[45]

Miwa Squad faces off against Yūma, however he doesn't fight back which confuses Osamu[46] Replica explains that the combination of Miwa Squad's formation and experience makes them a tough opponent for Yūma, but nothing he can't handle[47], however he doesn't want to get Osamu in trouble, while also not wanting to get himself killed so he is trying to peacefully neutralize them.[48] Later in the fight Miwa uses Lead Bullet on Yūma[49], so Replica scans it[50], thus Yūma uses it to peacefully neutralize Miwa Squad.[51]

Jin met with Replica on the rooftop when Replica was going to deal with the Miwa Squad Snipers[52] by using chain.[53] Not long after, Replica explains the concept of Black Triggers to Osamu.[54]

Black Trigger Capture Arc[edit | edit source]

Replica tells Osamu why Yūma came to Mikado City[55], and afterwards tells Osamu to give Yūma a reason to live[56]

Border Enlistment Arc[edit | edit source]

After doing rank war matches with Kōda Squad[57], Replica comments on how it is a much faster way to gain points in comparison to training, but it is harder to gain points when he gets more.[58] Yūma decides to have another round with the trio, and replica tells him to not break their spirits.[58]

Yūma is confused between the difference of "paper money" and "metal coins"[59] so Replica theorizes that since the bigger the coin, the more it is worth[59], so there would be a point where it is too heavy, so they substitute metal with paper to avoid the problem.[59]

After Yūma spend money to buy a drink[60], he was confused about why he "got more money" so replica explained how it was broken down into change.[60]

Yūma mentions Replica as his partner who can do research to find which country killed Miwa's sister.[61]

Replica introduces himself to border's top brass as Yūma's chaperone, and a trion soldier made by his father.[62] He then makes a promise with Kido that as long as Yūma follows border's regulations, Kido guarantee Yūma's safety, in exchange for Replica's information that he gathered alongside Yūgo, and Yūma.[63]

Replica gave the orbital diagram Yūgo compiled during his travels to border[64] (which was worth 30 away missions[65]) Replica then explained how there are 4 planets currently approaching earth[66], Liberi[67], Leoforio[67], Chion[67], and Aftokrator[68] with mentioning errant nations as a possibility afterwards.[68] After narrowing down the possible nations to Aftokrator, and Chion[69], Replica talks about black triggers, and how neighbor away missions are like.[70]

Shinoda wanted to make a deal with Yūma to immediately become a B-rank agent, but he refuses.[71] Replica later questioned the decision[72], but Yūma said it doesn't matter as if he is going to fight for real it would be with His Black Trigger.[72] Replica thinks it makes sense, but says if he uses his black trigger, he will be targeted as while Kido did not lie about wanting to make a deal, it is possible he will be ruthless if Yūma doesn't follow the rules[72], Yūma mentions that Kido might've known about Yūgo's side effect already, but Yūma knows that hesitation in battle is fatal, so he will use the black trigger if he ever thinks he is in trouble.[73] Replica finishes the conversation by saying only Yūma can make the decision to use the black trigger.[73]

    Large-Scale Invasion Arc[edit | edit source]

Replica flies into the air to see the situation for the trion soldiers that has appeared[74] saying while the trion soldiers have the numerical advantage, they are dispersed, so when the off-duty agents catch up, border will have the upper hand[74], in addition border's initial response was quick due to precognition and already being prepared.[74]

Replica explains to Shinoda that the new type of trion soldier is called a Rabbit[75], and while it is a capture type like the Bamster, it was made to capture trigger users[75] and that even A-rank agents will be defeated if faced alone.[75]

Replica explains that the invading country is manipulating Border as if border goes after the rabbits, the other trion soldiers will attack the city, and vise versa.[76]

Replica tells Osamu that he is currently facing too many trion soldiers, and that he should retreat[77], however Osamu is worried about the trion soldiers getting to Chika.[77] Replica relays to Osamu how the plan is for all B-rank agents to gather into one group as the top brass wants to destroy the trion soldiers one area at a time[77], as isolated B-rank squads are in danger of being captured by Rabbits.[77] Osamu asks about the other areas, specifically about Chika and co[78], Replica tells him that the areas that haven't been evacuated will be given priority[78], and due to Chika's area having a smooth evacuation it will most likely be left for later.[78]

Replica questions why the invading country sent so many trion soldiers to Mikado City[79], Kitora questions what Replica what is, and Osamu, and Replica explains Replica is Yūma's chaperone, and that he has been traveling with Yūma and knows alot about neighbors.[79] Replica analyzed one of the rabbits, and found out each rabbit has a high cost[80] (with one rabbit roughly equaling 4 ilgars[80]) combined with the cost of other units, means a high enough total cost that the country's defenses are low[80] which is something normally avoided.[80] Yet they chose to scatter their forces so their intention is unclear.[80] Kitora mentions how the current theory is "waiting for us to reach and pursue, and then using the new model to capture trigger users"[81] which is also why Shinoda wanted all the B-rank agents to gather up.[81] Replica then mention how the enemy knows that border has the bail out function[81], along with how they are attacking[81] so replica fear their true motive.[82] additionally their strategy risks the creation of a new black trigger[82] which when on away missions, the attacker tries to avoid that as it could easily turn the tables.[83]

When Kitora is fighting the modded rabbit, replica comments on how there is no room for himself or Osamu to assist.[84], replica would later mention how they should focus on rescuing the civilians.[85]

Replica explains how only people from Aftokrator has Trion Receptors, that appear as horns[86] they are implanted into the heads of young children to improve both capacity and quality[87], in addition they were researching how to improve black trigger compatibility with them, and that when the user uses black triggers, the horns turn black.[88]

Replica mentions how there is no doubt that the invading country is aftokrator[89], and later explains how Tamakoma branch triggers are not made for mass use[90], but instead are made to match the user using experimental neighbor technology HQ hasn't approved.[91]

One of the Mini-Replicas watches Hyuse and Viza from above for Reiji[92], and tells Reiji how Hyuse's defenses are strong and how they were able to block all of Reiji's shots.[92] Later on during the fight, Replica tells Reiji to get down due to Viza's attack[93] Afterwards, replica recalls Yūgo's records on how the name is "Organon" and that it is one of Aftokrator's national treasures[94], internally Replica is confused on why they would send its wielder on an away mission, and wonders what is happening in Aftokrator.[94]

After Viza and Hyuse arrives to Osamu, and Karasuma's location, Replica tells Osamu that the old man has a black trigger.[95]

After Viza activates Organon infront of Yūma[96] and mentions how the blades do spin along extended rings[96], just like how Reiji calculated.[96] Later, Viza tells Yūma that they sent their best people to neighboring nations[97], and makes Replica think if Aftokrator is left completely empty[98], and was shocked at how his cloak was able to block anchor.[98]

During Yūma's fight with Viza, Replica tells Yūma how most of the anchors have been sliced off[99], and then reminds him how anchors consume alot of trion, so they shouldn't use too many if he can counter.[99] Later on after Yūma's arm got sliced off[100] Viza calls him a Tropoi Autonomous Trion Soldier.[101] Yūma then tells Replica to go protect Osamu and Chika[102] so he makes a mini replica for Yūma then his main body goes to Osamu and Chika.[103]

Replica saves Osamu by first using Shield[104], and then using Gate[104] to summon a replica rabbit.[105]

Replica tells Osamu that while he lowered the cost of the rabbit by removing the cubing ability[106], he will not be able to create a second one, and they will be at a disadvantage if they send more; afterwards Replica analyzed the magnetic force and neutralized it[106], and tells Osamu to escape while he can.[106] Osamu then asks Replica if Yūma is going to be alright as his main body is with him[107], he responds stating that Yūma wanted him to prioritize Osamu and Chika's rescue.[107] Replica then tells Osamu to hurry as Jin said the future hinges on whether him and Chika get to the base[107], and that it is currently safe to enter the base as the black trigger user that broke in is currently locked inside a training room[107], however if the entrance doesn't open, then it will take some time to break in.[107]

Replica relays that Karasuma has bailed out[108], and that they are about 120 meters from the base[108], but there is one last obstacle - Hyrein.[108]

After reviewing the information about the base[109], Replica sent out a mini to analyze the base's entrance ahead of time[109], and all they have to do is get to the base.[110] Hyrein attacks using his trigger, and Replica clarifies that it only works on trion[110], so they should use the buildings as cover[111] After a while, Hyrein planted Jellyfish bullets inside the house[112], forcing them to leave, however they are close to the base.[113] However Mira showed up and destroyed the mini-replica analyzing the base door[114], additionally she is now staking out the entrance.[114] Replica mentions the only two possibilities at the moment are to shove Mira aside and force their way in[115], or run away and wait for Jin or Yūma to arrive[115] as they can't fight them.[115]

Miwa started going one v one against a black trigger, which shocked Osamu[116], however Replica mentions how Miwa is well suited for the fight as Hyrein's fish can't block Miwa's bullets[117] During the fight, Osamu is surprised how Miwa split up Shield[118], Replica comments on how he must've split it up like one does with Asteroid.[118] Replica then asks Osamu what does he want to do as it is his chance to move[119] Osamu says they are going to force their way into the base as he won't be able to go anywhere else[119], but he says he has something to do and summons asteroid[119], however the trigger malfunctioned[120], so Osamu had Replica help him by using boost.[120] Hyrein blocked it, but Osamu said it is fine, and headed off.[121] After getting to the entrance they noticed how Mira left a direct link to the ship in front of the entrance[122] On Yūma's end, he asks how Osamu and Chika are doing[123], Replica lies and tells Yūma there is no need to worry[123], Yūma calls him out and says it is rare for him to tell a lie[123], but Replica tells him to focus on the enemy in front of him as he most likely the strongest person out of all the enemies.[123] Additionally Viza considers stalling to be enough, and it is difficult to beat someone who can sit back, and if they get greedy he will take advantage of it.[123] Viza then tries to bait Yūma, but Replica tells him to not fall for it.[124]

replica tells Yūma that due to only being a mini, it will take time to use compound and multiplier seals[125], in addition the chain seal he placed at the beginning of the battle is gone, so his chances at a direct confrontation are poor.[125] Over at Miwa's side, one of the mini-replicas helped Miwa out by using a shield where Miwa was going to step on a jellyfish bullet[126], this annoys Miwa as he doesn't want any help from neighbors[126], Replica tells him to focus on the battle as Replica isn't doing it for him, so there is no need to thank him.[127] On Osamu's side Replica uses Bolt on Mira while running away[128], Mira tells him to stop running, and Replica then realizes that Osamu has a tracking beacon planted on him[129] Mira claimed they noticed too late[129], however Replica's rabbit caught up and attacked Mira.[130] Replica tells Osamu to stay with the rabbit, and thinks they might be able to get past her[131], But on Mira's side, she knew she wouldn't be able to get rid of the rabbit due to the trion cost[131], so she bisected Replica.[132]

Osamu isn't sure what to do as he thinks Replica is either dead or going to die, and worries if whether or not he can make it into the base[133], however Replica stated he switched to his auxiliary system[134], and due to this most of his functions aren't working, but he was able to remove the tracking beacon and would still be able to open he entrance.[134] The problem is that he didn't finish analyzing the entrance, and so it would take about 20 seconds to open the door, so Replica tells Osamu he has an idea.[135] On Yūma side, Replica notices how Viza is adjusting to Yūma's moves, and thinks they should retreat as they need to catch him unaware.[136] Yūma, however thinks the best plan is to beat him head on[137], Replica tells Yūma he is the only one who can make a decision about the plan[137]

After Yūma defeats Viza, Replica tells Yūma his combat body is gone, and he is almost out of Trion[138], so Yūma said he will only use seals.[138] On Osamu's side, Replica tells Osamu, Yūma is heading their way, but it will take time[139], and if Miwa is defeated, then they will not be able to escape[139], Replica then tells Osamu that if they want to enact "that plan" they will need to do it now while Miwa is fighting.[140]

Replica explains that due to the time required to open the door, it would be hard for Replica to protect Osamu and Chika for the required time[141], but since the neighbor's away ship is a neighbor system, he can override it instantly[142], so Replica asks Osamu to throw him.[141]

Replica coordinated with Miwa to determine Hyrein's position[143], which resulted in a direct hit.[144] Osamu was able to successfully throw Replica into the away ship[145], and replica was able to override the system[145], and issue a "return home" command[146], which is something Mira can't cancel.[146] Afterwards, Replica tells Osamu goodbye, and to take care of Yūma.[147] After the away ship heads out, the mini-replicas start falling to the ground.[148]

After Osamu wakes up from his week long coma, Yūma tells Osamu that the others did research and found out that if Replica was truly dead, the minis would disappear as well[149], which means as long as the mini replicas are around, they will see him again at aftokrator, which is another reason to become A-rank agents.[149]

Currently the mini-replicas are kept at the R&D department at HQ.[150]

Giev summons a Trion Soldier that can forms a barrier, and inside the barrier it can replicate Trion Soldiers by reading the user's memories[152] due to this the Trion Soldiers also how the person trapped inside moves.[152] Giev then traps Yūma inside the barrier, and forces him to face hordes of Trion Soldiers[152], but near the end, he summons a replica of Replica as Giev knew how important Replica is due to being deep inside Yūma's memory[152] so Giev assumed it would be hard for Yūma to fight the fake Replica.[152] However this ended up making Yūma angry, and switched from his border trigger, to his black trigger to finish the fight.[152]

Osamu tells Xeno about Replica, and his friendship with Yūma[153], and how much he has helped Osamu, and Chika.[153] ending with how he knows Humans and Trion soldiers can be friends.[153]

    143. Q: When Miwa used Fūjin during the Second Large-Scale Invasion, why was he able to attack "somewhere he couldn't see"?
A: It was a combination technique with Replica determining the position.

    150. Q: Where is the chibi-Replica left behind in this world currently located? Does Yūma keep it on his person, is it lovingly displayed in his room, is it carefully stored away, or is it perhaps being kept somewhere for the sake of research...... Please tell us!
A: Currently, it is being kept in the R&D department at HQ for further analysis. If Yūma were to go on the away mission, he would probably bring it with him during that time.
