    World Trigger Wiki

Hyuse has been extolled as an exceptionally skilled and talented warrior by allies[1] and enemies[2] alike, so much so that he was the youngest member in Hyrein's Expedition Force. On Earth he was able to fight on par with some of Border's most powerful agents, holding off Reiji Kizaki and Kyōsuke Karasuma simultaneously and later fighting Yūichi Jin to a standstill. With his Horn Trigger he was able to instantly and effortlessly subdue Reghindetz and the Dogs he had with him.[3] No more than a few days after becoming a B-rank agent he held his own against as many as six opponents, including two aces and a member of a former A-rank squad.[4][5] On top of a remarkable level of combat prowess, this feat vouches for exceptional multi-tasking skills and an ability to anticipate his opponents' next move, as well as superior peripheral vision[6] which aids him in quickly responding to surprise attacks.[7] His exceptional Trion amount, second in Border only to Chika Amatori's,[8][9] greatly augments his offensive and defensive abilities.

Part of Hyuse's power lies in his eclecticism. When he was eight, Hyuse began his swordsmanship training under none other than Viza, which he continued until the age of 14, when he proved worthy of wielding the extremely complex and versatile Lampyris.[10] Thanks to the man's tutelage Hyuse managed to reach B-rank mere hours after his enlistment in Border,[11] and estimates that his current level in swordsmanship would place him somewhere between the No. 4 and No. 8 Attacker.[12] He is also an extremely fast learner. Right after adding new Triggers to his Trigger set he scored eight victories out of 20 rounds against Yūma.[13] The two became adept at coordinating in a very short time,[14][15][16] during which Hyuse also mastered advanced Shooter techniques: by delaying half of his bullets and timing them accurately, he succeeded in incapacitating an already debilitated Masato Kageura with minimal help from Yūma within seconds.[17]

Hyuse has also given proof of great strategic and analytical skills while observing Tamakoma Second's matches[18][19][20][21] and has memorized considerable amount of information about several squads' Triggers and strategies.[19][22] During his first match he quickly devised a way to defeat Kageura[17] and showed himself to be on Osamu's level as a strategist, reminding him of factors he had left out[23] and ultimately suggesting the tactic that ended the match.[24] His captain was also impressed by his ability to change his planned use of Viper on the spot due to changing circumstances and with an eye to the upcoming match.[25] In addition, he possesses extensive knowledge of many planet nations in the Neighborhood to the point that he himself claimed that he could act as a guide assuming the planet nation wasn't extremely remote.[26]

    Trion[edit | edit source]

Hyuse was born with an above-average amount of trion by the standards of Aftokrator, which was then increased through the implant of Trion Receptors.[27] The devices have also refined its quality and thus contributed to his proficiency at trion manipulation.[28] His high trion levels allow Hyuse to wield one of Aftokrator's Enhanced Triggers and, more broadly, to continue using extremely trion-consuming Triggers for prolonged amounts of time. With Border Triggers he boasts exceptional offensive and defensive abilities.

    Track Record[edit | edit source]

Hyuse was able to clear the Colossal Neighbor simulation in 1.5 seconds on his first try, a record that places him behind only Yūma Kuga.[29] With Kogetsu he single-handedly defeated multiple C-rank agents at the same time[30] as well as several agents from the middle and top of B-rank in single combat: while using only a Kogetsu, Noboru Koarai, Kotarō Tomoe and Yūta Miura lost five matches out of five against him,[31] while Hisato Sasamori scored one win and managed to injure him in at least one other match after observing his movements.[32] Hyuse then went on to win five matches out of seven against former A-rank agent Shinnosuke Tsuji, demonstrating to be already above Master-rank level.[33] He was evenly matched against No. 6 Attacker Tatsuhito Ikoma, winning four rounds against him and losing the same amount,[34] before the latter was disqualified for using Senkū in the last one.[35] He finally confronted Kei Tachikawa, against whom Hyuse managed to score only one victory out of six rounds.[36]

    Triggers[edit | edit source]

    Hyuse's Triggers
    Current
    Type Normal Kogetsu

    Classification Attacker

Despite claiming that his swordsmanship has gone rusty,[10] Hyuse is very proficient with this Trigger. He was evenly matched against no. 6 Attacker Tatsuhito Ikoma when the two fought with Kogetsu only,[34] and he also managed to win one round out of 6 against no. 1 Attacker and solo combatant Kei Tachikawa.[36] His final assessment was that his proficiency with a sword would put him somewhere between the No. 4 and No. 8 Attackers.[12] Hyuse is first seen using Kogetsu in Chapter 159 (Episode 85 in the anime).
    Type Normal Viper

    Classification Shooter

Viper is the Trigger which Hyuse had the hardest time getting a working command of[28], despite this he is one of three Border agents who can create new patterns for Viper every time they use it.[37][38] Thanks to his tremendous amount of Trion, the power of his one Viper cube briefly rivalled that of Tatsuya Kuruma's Asteroid Full Attack.[39] Until the remainder of Round 8, Hyuse had chosen not to bend his bullets, instead delaying and angling them to make their timing and paths harder to anticipate.[40] This was done in order to take more powerful enemies in future matches by surprise. He often holds back half of his bullets for a pincer attack[17] or a quick counter.[41] He is capable of angling them in such a way that he will not hit himself even if he stands in front of the scattered trion cube.[7] When he finally utilized them to the fullest, he demonstrated remarkable control, in which he altered the trajectory at the last moment before sending the rest spiraling toward its next targets.[37] He is first seen using Viper in Chapter 170 (Episode 89 in the anime).
    Type Normal Trion Receptor
The horns installed on Hyuse's head have improved the amount and quality of his trion over the years,[42] giving him extraordinary reserves. His Border Trion Body was programmed not to replicate them to maintain his identity as a Neighbor and a former invader from Aftokrator hidden.[43] The modification is presumably cosmetic and does not affect his pool of trion.[44]
    Type Normal Escudo

    Classification Defense

Hyuse is an extremely prolific Escudo user, whose combination of copious trion reserves and sheer creativity allow him to utilize it in unpredictable ways. He can erect dozens of barriers at once to separate teammates[45] or limit their options for retreat and evasion.[46] He can also exploit its force while it surfaces to propel himself and others high into the air[47] or to forcefully knock them in a desired direction. By touching an opponent he can cause Escudo to emerge directly from their body,[48] potentially impeding them.[49] More common applications of Escudo that Hyuse has mastered include erecting barricades to approach the enemy while defending himself from Gunner Triggers,[50] trapping an opponent between two Escudo,[51] and obstruct all exits in a building. His superior trion makes it possible for him to cast Escudo more than the standard 25 meters away from his position.[52] Hyuse is first seen using Escudo in Chapter 169 (Episode 89 in the anime).
    Type Normal Shield

    Classification Defense

Hyuse maintains the hexagonal shape of his Shield, generally erecting it in front of his chest when going up against a Gunner or Shooter. His go-to size seems to be fairly large, covering his whole body if he crouches.[53][54] However, he can also create a smaller one that protects only his upper body.[55] Unlike other owners of mid-range Triggers, Hyuse does not seem fond of keeping up his Shield while firing, preferring to bide his time until an occasion to counter presents itself, and summoning it again right afterwards if needed.[53] If he plans to remain stationary, he defends with Escudo instead and uses Shield only to block attacks that can circumvent the former.[56] Despite his enormous trion reserves, not even Hyuse's Shield can block Ibis,[41] although he can do so with Full Guard.[57] Hyuse is first seen using Shield in Chapter 170 (Episode 89 in the anime).
    Type Normal Holographic Projector
This earring-shaped[58] device can project three-dimensional holograms for a variety of purposes. It can display the position of Neighbor planets in relation to their orbits,[58] and possesses a Radar function with a very wide range that can distinguish among the various types of Trion Soldiers.[59] Hyuse is first seen using it in Chapter 119 (Episode 72 in the anime).
    Type Normal Bagworm

    Classification Optional

A cloak that prevents the user's trion signature from being detected by Radar, therefore concealing their position. Although he will promptly wear it in preparation of a sneak attack,[51] Hyuse is reluctant to do the same when attempting to avoid his opponents, especially when some of the might be hiding, due to the delay with which he would activate Full Guard.[60] He is first seen using Bagworm in Chapter 169 (Episode 89 in the anime).
    Type Normal Radar

    Classification Standard

A Standard Trigger that shows the position of any Trion Body within range. Like Bail Out, it does not occupy a Trigger slot and is a standard piece of equipment of all Border agents. Hyuse is first seen using it in Chapter 173 (Episode 90 in the anime).
    Former/Temporary
    Type Normal Cape
When in the trion body created by Lampyris, Hyuse is protected by an armored cape[61] that can block the bullets of Border's Gunner Triggers,[62] as well as absorb the effects of Lead Bullet, shedding the affected parts and regenerating moments afterwards.[63]
    Type Normal Lampyris
Jin considers Hyuse a masterful user of this Trigger.[2] Lampyris allows Hyuse to control numerous magnetic triangle-shaped projectiles that can be used in many ways, such as forming a shield to stop or to reflect any attacks. It also use the attracting properties of a magnet in order to bring people towards him, restrain them,[64] or act as markers. By using electromagnetism, it can create a railgun.[65] The user also capable of creating large, round, spiked blades, which can effortlessly cleave through a trion body,[66] and forming a shield that can reflect the surroundings, rendering them invisible. He first used it in Chapter 55 (Episode 25 in the anime).
    Type Normal Scorpion

    Classification Attacker

Hyuse is very skilled with this Trigger as the first time he used it, he was able to alter its shape to such an extent that he was able to pierce Yōtarō's clothes without harming his body, bending the blade in such a way that it went around him.[67] He first used it in Chapter 135 (Episode 77 in the anime).
