An Strategy Room (作戦 室, Sakusen-shitsu ?) is a private room used by Border Squads B-Rank and above to plan and strategize for Rank Wars.[1] They are located in Border Headquarters or in a Branch office.[1][2]
Layout[edit | edit source]
The layout of an Strategy Room differs from squad to squad, but they all have a standard rectangular size and shape. A-rank Squads' Strategy Rooms are bigger than B-rank Squads' as they have a kitchenette and another small room about 4 tatami mats wide (about 6.5 meters square).[3] In the case of an A-Rank Squad getting demoted, the size of the room reverts back[4][5] and they normally lose the kitchenette.[4][5]
There are features that most strategy rooms share, such as:
- An Operator Room (オペレーター ルーム, Operēta Rūmu ?)[6][7] which contains a desk, monitor(s), and a chair.[8] it is used as the area the Operator works in, however it was said that Fuyushima works in the operator room sometimes.[9]
- A Bail Out room which contains the Bail Out mats for each combatant.[8]
- A discussion space which contains a strategy table with chairs, bookcases, and/or a monitor screen or television.[8]
- Some Strategy Rooms have personalized features such as a kotatsu and refrigerator[10], gaming consoles[8], movie DVDs and giant artworks[11], and even a Mahjong board.[12]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There are ducts inside in Border HQ that allows Bail Out use inside the base[13], which will return the user to their Strategy Room[13]
- The Strategy Rooms are designed by the squad members themselves.[14]
- Despite being demoted to B-Rank, Ninomiya Squad still has a kitchenette in their Strategy Room.[7]
- Suzunari First has their own place at Suzunari Branch so their strategy room doesn't have a lot of stuff.[2]

Daisuke Ashihara: Q: What happens if you Bail Out inside Border HQ? Do you fly outside first and then fly back to HQ?
A: Inside the HQ Base there are ducts for Bail Out use, so you will return to your Strategy Room through those. You don’t need to go outside.
