Black Trigger Retrieval Arc

Isami Tōma was one of those who returned from a Neighbor world. He complained to Kinuta about the size of the boat and asked for it to be bigger. When Miwa Squad explained about Yūma Kuga, he was surprised to hear a Neighbor enlisting in Tamakoma. He agreed to starting the fight for the black trigger that night.

Tōma greeted Jin Yūichi cheerfully, and answered Jin’s question about his commanding officer. Sōya Kazama told him to quiet down. Tōma showed some reluctance to start battling against Jin.

Tōma fell back from the main battle, attempting to seek favorable terrain and complaining when he couldn’t find an acceptable line of fire. Narasaka and Shōhei Kodera set themselves up and began firing. Tōma refused to fire if he knew he was going to miss. He taunted Narasaka about always being number two, and left to join Miwa’s group.

Tōma shooting Tokieda through the head during the Black Trigger Retrieval Arc

Tōma joined the battle against the Arashiyama Squad by shooting a hole through Tokieda’s head. He attempted to shoot Kitora Ai as well, but Tokieda pulled her down at the last second. Kōhei Izumi wanted to level the abandoned houses to get to Jun Arashiyama and Kitora, to which Tōma reminded him that the homes, while abandoned, were still people’s houses. Tōma kept an eye on Kitora and Arashiyama’s movements. Tōma remarked on how Arashiyama was taking quite the beating. When Arashiyama teleported, Tōma nearly managed to snipe him, but Kitora crept up from behind and sliced his head off. He was then forced to bail out.

Large-Scale Invasion Arc

Tōma fell asleep on a couch and ended up sleeping through the initial part of the invasion. He eventually joined the battle against Hyrein, commenting that it would be like a game. He and Narasaka fired through the gaps in the shield to hit Hyrein.

Mira warped in a rabbit to deal with Tōma. He called out for his captain to teleport him and was unable to continue the battle against Hyrein. He was told to wait, and questioned if the new models would start destroying the base. Tōma stated they should wrap up the three rabbits that started attacking HQ in three minutes.

He received a Excellent Service Award.

B-Rank Wars Arc

Sniper Training

Tōma takes part in February 10th's Sniper Training, which was target practice. Prior to the start of training, he meets Izuho Natsume, Chika Amatori, and Akane Hiura when Natsume's cat hops onto his pompadour. He does training with the cat sitting on his head, not taking it seriously at all. He was ranked second to last, which initially makes Natsume question his abilities before Narasaka points out that Tōma had drawn a smiley face with his shots.

He also takes part in the February 16th training, which was the Stealth and Target Acquisition Drill. Tōma gets 51st with 12 kills and no deaths, headshotting any snipers he seemed to know and going as far as hitting Chika from 645 meters away. The only exception to this was Narasaka, who he hit in the shoulder. He teases Natsume for being hit so much.

Galopoula's Invasion

Tōma is part of the sniper team sent to the roof to hold back the Idras. When the Dogs invade the roof, he is seen protecting Taichi.

Round Six

Tōma commentates this match alongside Hiro Kitazoe and Yuu Kunichika.

Prior to Round 8

Tōma joins Yuma, Ema, and the others at Kageura's family's Okonomiyaki shop.

Tōma, with the rest of the A-Rank agents, judge the participants of this test during Phase 1.
