Tōma is the No. 1 Sniper in Border[1] and the fourth ranked Overall Solo fighter,[2] both of which are extraordinary achievements speaking for a very high level of skill. Since during training he tends to goof off, it can be inferred that it is his combat record alone that made him or at least maintains him the highest ranked Sniper. Despite being composed of only two fighters, his squad is A-rank No. 2, and deemed powerful enough to stand against a Black Trigger.[3]
Tōma is so familiar with Sniper Triggers he can predict their trajectory accurately even when someone else is handling them. He also seems to be tremendously proficient at stealth combat, coming out of joint Sniper practice without having been hit even once despite having sniped all his intended targets in a few minutes. On the same occasion, he hit Chika in the head while she was jumping out of a window from 645 meters away.[4] Thanks to his fighting experience, he can predict the destination of Teleporter and shoot the user as soon as they appear.[5]
Tōma has also demonstrated to have an eye for strategy, which allowed him to grasp the requirements of Tamakoma Second's wire tactic, as well as to make educate guesses on how the teams would move during that match. His final analysis was also insightful.

Classification Sniper |
As Tōma's only offensive trigger is Egret, he has to be the Sniper who has scored the most points with said trigger as he is Border's No. 1 Sniper [2] while also having the fourth highest score with any Trigger.[1] Against Arashiyama Squad, he managed to snipe Tokieda in the head while he and Kitora were falling,[6] and would have done the same with her moments later, still before either reached the ground, had Tokieda not interfered.[7] During practice, he scored a headshot against Chika from 645 meters away while she was jumping out of a window.[4] He was also capable of shooting through the moving, minuscule gaps among Alektor bullets that protected Hyrein.[8] |

An Optional Trigger that prevents the user's position from appearing on the Radar. It is of crucial importance to a Sniper, and it complements Tōma's already noteworthy stealth abilities. |
