    World Trigger Wiki

Being the No. 2 Attacker and No. 3 solo fighter, Kazama is considered one of the most powerful agents in Border. His unit is one of the few deemed capable of defeating a Black Trigger is further proof of his strength. Like his teammates, he specializes in hit-and-run, coordinated attacks and stealth combat; however, his swordsmanship alone already makes him a formidable fighter. He was able to evenly cross blades with Jin while the latter was using a sealed Fujin, and was the only among his opponents to injure him[1], although this is due to Jin's Side Effect failing to predict his attack. He is extremely quick and mobile, capable of easily maneuvering around his target. Like the rest of his unit, he can move so quickly that Tsutsumi did not notice he had been relocated until after it happened.[2] Kazama is also an exceptional leader and strategist, endowed with a keen eye that allows him to discern the enemy's weak points as well as to give advice and measure a fighter's talent.[3] His tactical skills are increased by his ability to maintain his composure regardless of the circumstances.

    Triggers[edit source]

    Type Normal Scorpion

    Classification Attacker

Kazama is the agent who has scored the most points with Scorpion.[4] The model used by his Squad is slightly different from the standard, as it has a hollowed blade and stretches reach, being even more offense-oriented.[5] Combining the lightness and shapeshifting ability of the blade with his natural agility, Kazama can strike from any position, using acrobatic maneuvers to move around his opponent.[6] When fighting with his Squad or using Chameleon, Kazama mainly resort to hit-and-run tactics, but he is fully capable of rivaling Border's best Attackers in swordsmanship. His skill is such that he was able to cut down all of Mikumo's slow-moving Asteroid bullets around him and deflect Rata's Despinis. Kazama normally wields two at the same time, but he is also adept at using just one, either with a normal or a reverse grip, or by turning it into a blade sticking from his forearm. He can also move it through his body before suddenly ejecting it for a surprise attack, even from under his foot when his position requires so.[7]

Mole Claw (モルクロー, Moru Kurō ?): Kazama is well-known for his use of this technique[8], which consists in driving Scorpion into the ground by making it come out from the underside of their foot, subsequently bending its blade so that, in emerging, it pierces through the opponent's foot, or another body part within reach, damaging the target and anchoring them in place.

    Type Normal Chameleon

    Classification Optional

Sōya uses it to become invisible and approach the target unseen, then switching to the Scorpion to execute a surprise attack. Although he cannot use any other Triggers while the Chameleon is active, his skill compensates for this downside. Thanks to his experience, he is able to see through the countermeasures of opponents who know how to fight against the Chameleon, rendering them useless. However, if his location is correctly inferred, he is forced to become visible in order to activate another Trigger and defend himself. In various places on his uniform are devices that reduce the Chameleon's trion consumption.[9]
    Type Normal Bagworm

    Classification Optional

An Optional Trigger that prevents the user's position from appearing on Radar. He's first seen using it to approach Tamakoma's branch building without appearing on their radar.[10]
    Type Normal Shield

    Classification Defense

Border's standard Defense Trigger, which erects a mobile barrier in a location chosen by the user.

    5. Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Is there a reason why there are different shapes for Scorpion?
A: Jin and Yūma's single edge Scorpion is the standard type that stresses balance. Kazama Squad's hollowed out Scorpion is a type specializing in attack and stresses the reach when expanding and contracting. Kitora's double-edged Scorpion is a modded type that has been equipped with the function to rotate it like a pinwheel around the grip.
