An Ilgar (イルガー, Irugā ?) is a rare[1] Trion Soldier with an elongated body specialized in bombarding.[2][3]
Appearance[edit | edit source]
An Ilgar is the size of an Elementary School[2][3], and has fins which give it a fish-like appearance. However it has human teeth and something similar to Pincers on its head.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
- Armor: The primary way to damage an Ilgar's armor is by Sniping or Cannons.[3][4] Additionally Ai Kitora's Gunner trigger did no damage[5], However she was able to slice open a hole in its back with Scorpion[6] which let her Gunner Trigger do enough damage to shoot it down.[7]
- Bombs: Ilgars can release bombs from its underbelly.[8] They were used to bomb Mikado City[8] hard enough that it was counted as the worst disaster since the First Large-Scale Invasion[9] with 18 people dead[9], over 100 injured[9], and innumerable amounts of property damage.[9] which is a count comparable to the Second Large-Scale Invasion[10]
- Cannons: It has many cannons on its back[3][11] which gets activated when someone gets on their back.[11] However its strength is unknown as their sole usage was blocked by Kitora's Fixed Shield.[12]
- Self-Destruct: If an Ilgar has sustained much damage[13], it falls towards the highest concentration of people[13], and then uses all its remaining power on exploding itself.[13] Protrusions appear on its back as it's charging.[14] Additionally in this mode Its armor becomes stronger[3][15], and it guards its weak point.[3][14] The durability increase is high enough that it was impressive to Yūma[15] that Tachikawa cut down an Ilgar[16] in that mode at all[15], let alone with a normal trigger[15] claiming it is way easier to drag them to the ground.[15]
Plot[edit | edit source]
Introduction Arc[edit | edit source]
On the same day as the School Invasion[17] A gate opened in the city which contained a Ilgar.[18] Agents Ai Kitora, and Osamu Mikumo were nearby, so Kitora went to fight the ilgar[19], while Osamu went to help the people in the town.[20]
thanks to the bombing, 18 people dead[9], over 100 injured[9], with innumerable amounts of property damage.[9] However Osamu was able to reduce the numbers.[21]
Large-Scale Invasion Arc[edit | edit source]
during the Second Large-Scale Invasion, Ilgars were used to reveal Border's firepower and confuse Border HQ[22], however thanks to the walls being fortified[23] and Tachikawa cutting down an Ilgar[16] - the base ended up being fine.[24]
