Background[edit source]
Yōtarō and his sister Ruka were heirs to the throne of Aristera.[1] He along with Ruka was taken to Earth as an infant by Cronin after Aristera fell and his parents were killed.[1] At some point he taken into Border to shelter him, in addition Karasuma gave him the surname Rindō to seem like he is related to Takumi or Yuri Rindō by blood.[2]
Black Trigger Capture Arc[edit source]
Yōtarō debuts at Tamakoma Branch where he is riding on Raijinmaru[3], much to the confusion of Osamu.[3]
Border Enlistment Arc[edit source]
Yotaro is walking around HQ with Yoneya on enlistment day when they come across Yuma and Miwa talking at the vending machine. When Yoneya challenges Yuma to an practice match they leave and see the crowd watching a best of ten fight, Yotaro follows on Raijinmaru's back. After exiting the fight, Mikumo is berated by Yotaro as the latter proceeds to claim he'll get revenge. In the first two rounds Yotaro is disappointed by Yuma's two losses but is soon surprised and proud when Yuma brings back the win, winning eight of the ten rounds. He follows the rest as they are requested by Kido and the Upper Brass to assist in the upcoming planning for the invasion.
