Introduction Arc

Tokieda appears alongside Jun Arashiyama and Kitora Ai when a trion soldier is reported at Osamu Mikumo’s school. As Jun and Kitora talk with Osamu and Yūma Kuga, Tokieda investigates the scene. When Kitora protests leaving, he reminds her that Osamu’s punishment is out of their hands. When the reason behind the unstable portals is discovered, he reappears alongside the rest of his team for cleanup purposes.

Black Trigger Retrieval Arc

Tokieda appears alongside the rest of Arashiyama Unit’s acting on Director Shinoda’s orders to help Tamakoma’s branch. They separate from Jin Yūichi to face Shūji Miwa, Kōhei Izumi, and Yōsuke Yoneya. He and Jun remain on the ground facing Miwa and Izumi, as Kitora and Yoneya battle it out over Ken Satori’s head. Arashiyama says they shouldn’t mess up their own jobs, to which Tokieda agrees. Izumi attempts to shoot Arashiyama, but Tokieda blocks it with Shield. Arashiyama teleports, and together they provide crossfire on Izumi. When Kitora is dragged out of the building to be killed off by Izumi, Tokieda uses his shield to block the majority of the shots. Isami Tōma shoots him in the head. Tokieda grabs onto Kitora, dragging her down a little faster, pulling her away from Tōma’s followup shot. Tokieda apologizes to Arashiyama about going out so fast, before bailing out.

Border Enlistment Arc

Tokieda is shown with the rest of his team for the introduction to enlisting in Border. He explains to Yūma about joint trainings and rank wars.

Large-Scale Invasion Arc

Tokieda and Arashiyama open fire on an injured Rabbit cubifying Chano Squad. Yūma thanks Tokieda for the help, to which Tokieda responds by inquiring about his appearance. He observes the bombing run on headquarters. He, Ken Satori, Arashiyama, and Yūma focus on eliminating trion soldiers in the danger zone. After Yūma leaves, he continues to focus on eliminating the trion soldiers.

Tokieda and his team receive the Outstanding Service Reward.

B-Rank Wars Arc

He, Arashiyama, and Kitora watch the rank war between Suwa Squad, Arafune Squad, and Tamakoma Second.
